Key trade fairs in Hamburg and across Germany in 2023

All kinds of must-see events on hydrogen, aircraft interiors and catering and much more

All kinds of trade fairs on hydrogen and renewable energies to digitalization, marketing, aviation and shipping will be held in Hamburg and across Germany this year. The following overview gives visitors an idea of what to expect. 

Renewable energies and hydrogen

An increasing number of jobs are vacant in the green energies sector. Professionals and those keen on a career change can learn more about wide-ranging job opportunities during the free online Renewable Energies Career Fair from January 26-27, 2023 and meet companies in the industry. Hydrogen experts from all over Europe including companies based in Hamburg will meet at France's largest hydrogen trade fair, Hyvolution, in Paris on February 1 and 2. Meanwhile, Hamburg is gearing up to host the H2 Expo & Conference on June 28 and 29 in addition to the the trade fair with various presentations.

Gastronomy and food innovations

Three trade fairs focusing entirely on the catering sector will launch this spring beginning with the leading Internorga trade fair for the out-of-home market from March 10 to 14 in Hamburg's exhibition halls. Movers and shakers in the hotel, restaurant and catering industries will also meet at Gastro Vision in the Empire Riverside Hotel from March 10 to 13. Start-ups can look forward to the Food Innovation Camp on May 22 and will have an opportunity to meet representatives of the retail and catering sectors as well as investors and those in the political sphere. Founders will also have an opportunity to present their latest food novelties and to pitch their business models in Hamburg's Chamber of Commerce. 

Future of digital marketing strategies

The digital industry will also meet in Hamburg in 2023 beginning with the D3con on March 21 and 22, 2023 at Cinemaxx Hamburg-Dammtor. Advertisers, representatives of agencies and platforms will discuss the future of digital advertising. Various presentations will centre on modern digital marketing strategies and during the Online Marketing Rockstars Festival  OMR on May 9 and 10. Delegates can look forward to concerts on three stages, talks by stars in the industry and meeting key stakeholders.

Cutting-edge technology in aviation and cruise shipping

The focus will turn to innovations with emphasis on comfort when the Aircraft Interiors Expo gets underway from June 6 to 8 in Hamburg's exhibition halls. Taste buds are likely to be tantalized when the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo presents all the latest edible novelties in the travel sector (June 6-8, 2023). Seatrade Europe will be held parallel to the Marine Interiors Expo when the cruise industry comes together from September 6 to 8. Delegates can learn all about cutting-edge technology, construction, sales and key ports of call for cruise ships.

 

Working life and technology in transition

The New Work Experience (NWX) will explore the future of work on June 14 and in all its latest forms of work in venues such as the Elbphilharmonie and HafenCity. The future of blockchain and forward-looking technologies will top the agenda at Europe's leading Blockchance conference from June 28 to 30, 2023 in the Congress Centre Hamburg. Emphasis will be on processing transactions more efficiently, securely and transparently.

 

Consumer trade fairs in autumn

Autumn will feature two major consumer fairs beginning with Photopia for both professional and amateur photographers when companies across imaging present their technical innovations from September 21 to 24, 2023 and with plenty of keynotes and workshops. The Polaris Convention is likely to transform the exhibition halls into a universe. After last year's inaugural event, the convention is set to attract e-sports and gaming fans and lovers of Asian pop culture to Hamburg from October 13 to 15.

Other trade fairs nationwide

Trade fairs elsewhere in Germany also hold plenty in store. This year’s Hannover Messe gets underway from April 17-21, 2023 with climate-neutral energy, Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence topping the agenda. The Hub Berlin on June 28-29 is dedicated to digitalisation and its economic impact with emphasis on digital transformation, security and sustainability. Digital marketing experts will come together for the leading DMEXCO on September 20 and 21 in Cologne. Later in the year, Munich will host the international Expo Real from October 4 to 6 and featuring several companies based in Hamburg.
