ECE honoured as best shopping center operator in Germany

The Hamburg-based shopping centre specialist ECE was recognised as Germany's best shopping centre operator at the real estate fair EXPO REAL in Munich

Dr. Joachim Will, CEO of the Market Research Institute Ecostra, awarded Alexander Otto the certificate. The institute publishes the Shopping Center Performance Report (SCPR) every year. For the fifth time, tenants of 400 German shopping centers were asked about their satisfaction regarding the profitability of their stores in the shopping centers. Moreover, the tenants were asked to assess the competence of the leading German center operators. Once again after 2014, ECE could maintain the top spot, followed by Citti and MEC, which is a joint venture of Metro and ECE.

Second Distinction after 2014’s Award

“This very positive rating by the retailers for our company in this year’s Shopping Center Performance Report is a special reward for our work. Receiving this honor in the year of our 50th company anniversary is very special. At the same time, it motivates us to consistently pursue our path into the future,” said Alexander Otto.

Additionally Awards for Two ECE Shopping Centres

Two ECE centers won top spots in the rating of individual centers. Breuningerland Sindelfingen was awarded the best shopping center in Germany, Breuningerland Ludwigsburg finished third.

“This is where our 130 years of experience, our passion, and our enthusiasm meet the high professionalism and reliability of ECE. The outstanding results of this survey show that our collaboration at Breuningerland Sindelfingen and Ludwigsburg has been extremely successful,“ said Dr. Bernd Schade, Head of Real Estate at Breuninger, explaining the benefits of working together with ECE.

A total of 83 retailers and food retailers took part in the survey for the SCPR 2015. Immobilien Zeitung and the specialist magazine “Textilwirtschaft” supported the report as media partners.
