Hamburg Tourism Honoured With Tourism Award

Digital tour guide honoured with silver at the prize-giving gala of the German Tourism Award

“The Hamburg Tourismus App breathes new life into the marketing. It is a carefully and strategically set up travel companion that will significantly strengthen sales. The app sets new standards in customer journey and has been set up in an extremely customer-oriented way”, says Claudia Gilles, director general of the German Tourism Association (DTV). At the German Tourism Day, which took place in Bremerhaven from 4 to 6 November, a 14-member jury granted the innovation award for creative products and projects in Germany tourism. Standards in Mobile Marketing

“The app is an important element in answering the question of how we can add and increase value and service for our guests. It is an important part of our efforts to offer to the guest important information at any time – whether before, during or after the trip”, says Dietrich von Albedyll, CEO of HHT. According to the jury, composed by experts from media, tourism and science, HHT has set new standards in mobile marketing with its holistic conceptual approach.

Co-operations Expand App Services

The “Hamburg Tourismus app” will soon add new exciting features for free. About the German Tourism Award

The competition held by DTV in the eleventh year honours Germany’s most innovative tourism projects. Key criteria considered by the 14-member jury composed of members from media, tourism, and science included the degree of innovation, quality, customer orientation, efficiency and sustainability. According to these criteria, eight entries out of 73 applications were selected as finalists. The first prize was granted to the 2015 holiday rental brand “Cuckoo nest” of Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH. The 3rd prize was won by the Postel Usedom GmbH for “Postel Wolgast”.
