Worldwide enthusiasm about the recent opening of Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie is palpable and press reactions in Paris, London, Tokyo, and New York’s Times Square are full of praise.
A delighted Sven C. Oehme, HamburgAmbassador in New York, said: “What an advertisement for our city. The motif on Times Square means Hamburg has finally arrived on the international stage. The report by the New York Times listing Hamburg as one of the top destinations in 2017 has sparked attention. The international perception eases our work and in an excellent manner. It is a wonderful steep, template for intensifying and expanding the network for the Hanse city.” The project is part of an international campaign advertising the opening of the Elbphilharmonie.
The HamburgAmbassadors are honorary representatives and members of the network created in 2005 to promote the renown of the Hanseatic city worldwide. The project is supported and co-ordinated by Hamburg Marketing GmbH. “It shows us the Elphilharmonie’s unique radiance,” said Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, CEO of Hamburg Marketing, adding, “It has the potential to excite people all over the world about Hamburg.“
