Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG improves business results

EBIT slightly higher - operating profit expect to rise in present fiscal year

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has exceeded the results for 2017 in the first half of 2018. Both sales and operating earnings increased slightly year-on-year at group level in the first six months. This development was supported by both subgroups, the listed subgroup Hafenlogistik and the subgroup Immobilien,” HHLA announced on Tuesday. Container handling recorded an increase of 1.2 per cent. Sales at the port logistics subgroup increased by 1.6 per cent.

On track to meet overall goal

Sales in the listed port logistics subgroup rose a slight 1.6 per cent to EUR 617.1 million in the first six months. The operating result (EBIT) also rose slightly by 0.8 per cent to EUR 91.4 million; the EBIT margin remained almost stable at 14.8 per cent. Commenting on the half-year results, Angela Titzrath, CEO of HHLA, said: “The positive business development in the first half of the year makes us confident that we will achieve our targets for the year as a whole.”
