Becker Marine Systems opens office in Kobe

Hamburg company will be present at "Sea Japan" trade fair from April 13-15 in Tokyo

The Hamburg-based Becker Marine Systems is opening an office in Kobe in view of the growing importance of Japan’s shipping market. The firm will also be presenting its products such as high performance rudders, energy saving solutions and manoeuvring solutions at the upcoming maritime trade fair “Sea Japan”.

Office in Kobe

Every two years, “Sea Japan” opens its doors to around 500 exhibitors and 20,000 professional visitors at the fair in Tokyo. From April 13-15, 2016, Becker Marine Systems and its co-operation partner Nakashima Propeller will present their products together. Henning Kuhlmann, Managing Director of Becker Marine Systems, said in a statement Tuesday: “We have established ourselves on the Japanese market in the past years and now we wish to adjust even better to the local conditions and increase our name recognition in the region even further.”

In addition to the co-operation with Nakashima Propeller, Becker Marine Systems is opening an office in Kobe, which is on the southern side of the main island of Honshu in one of Japan’s biggest seaports. Kuhlmann pointed out: “We wish to focus more on the needs of the local market and offer technical support there from our new support office.”
