The Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) enters its third round Thursday (May 17, 2018) and will bring together visionaries, founders, designers as well as representatives of politics, science and business in Harburg. Created as a platform for new technologies and innovations, Hamburg’s new Research and Innovation Parks (R&I parks) will also be presented at the event. The expected guests include Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science, Research and Equality and Frank Horch, Senator for Economics.
Hamburg’s R&I parks
Organisers chose Harburg as the venue of HHIS to illustrate the promising development of the innovation and technology location. Anette Eberhardt, Project Manager of HHIS, noted: “The Channel Hamburg, the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH) and the hit techno park means the idea behind the R&I parks has progressed farthest in Harburg and is already being lived out successfully.”
Delegates can try out tomorrow’s technologies at the parallel HHIS exhibition under the theme “Innovations for all the Senses”. Three future talks will focus on key issues, trends and developments in industry. Young founders and start-ups will also have an opportunity to pitch their business ideas and prototypes to the audience in the Speakers Corner.
Hamburg Innovation Awards
The presentation of the Hamburg Innovation Awards will be just one of many highlights and will honour new, sustainable business ideas and innovative companies in the “Idea”, “Start” and “Growth” categories. The winners scoop cash prizes of EUR 3,000 each and a founder’s kit of prizes in kind.
