Scout24 in EUR 285 million takeover of

Takeover marks exit of large German fintech

Scout24 has purchased the Hamburg-based start-up for EUR 285 million in one of the largest German fintech acquisitions to date, according to a press release issued by Fintech Wednesday (July 18, 2018). The financial technology start-up was recently named Top Innovator 2018. The start-up has been working with Scout24 AG since 2015 and the takeover is intended to promote the brokerage of car loans. The company bundles leading marketplaces for cars and real estate under one roof.

Germany’s fastest-growing credit portal counts among the big four in Hamburg’s fintech scene. Founded in 2010 and managed by Moritz Thiele and Andreas Kupke, the company focuses on an online B2C marketplace allowing customers to compare different credit products and uses scoring technology for this purpose. Fintech is one of the Focus Growth Champions 2017 and considered Germany’s fastest-growing online loan comparison portal. employs around 225 staff.
