The Ministry for Culture and Media and the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft are funding companies keen to attend the “South by Southwest” (SXSW) creative trade fair from March 8- 17, 2019 in Austin, Texas. Over 5,000 trade visitors flocked to this year’s SXSW; the world’s largest creative trade fair for the film, music and digital industries. Hamburg has regularly presented itself as an attractive business hub for the creative industries and is offering interested companies an excellent opportunity to present their businesses on a global stage.
“Hamburg is nationwide one of the most important locations for the creative industry and with the Reeperbahn Festival home to one of the most important industry meets of the music industry in Europe. To promote this exchange internationally, the Hanseatic city has been attending SXSW for many years. There, companies find ideal opportunities for networking and exchange. We support them so that smaller companies can also take part and pick up the diverse impulses from Austin,” said Dr. Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media.
Funding for creatives
Creative companies and workers who would like to participate in SXSW 2019 can now apply to the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft for funding. The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and the Ministry for Culture and Media will provide each company with up to EUR 2,000 for flight and accommodation costs.
