People in Hamburg are urged to take part in a smartathon Friday (November 10, 2017) in the Landesbetrieb Geoinformation und Vermessung to create a web platform enabling citizens to support decision-making processes. Funded by the EU, the smarticipate project aims to use open data to give every citizen access to the same information as their local government and to help shape their city.
Hamburg, London and Rome
Hamburg, London and Rome are taking part in the three-year project, which is also set to become a learning journey towards more participatory governance. The smarticipate project uses an online involvement tool developed by the Stadtwerkstatt, and which has been in use since early 2016. This year’s smartathon will focus on urban greenery and the suitability of designated locations for planning.
