Established in 2013, the Elbkulturfonds (Elbe Culture Fund) has proven itself as an important and independent funding instrument of Hamburg’s Ministry of Culture for projects outside the arts and culture scene. It was set up to encourage artists to dive into innovative and experimental art projects, and to implement support for them. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, support had been granted to seven projects each year.
Wanted: Innovative, Non-Commercial Art Projects r
Prof Barbara Kisseler, Hamburg Minister of Culture: “The Elbe Culture Fund offers to artists the unique opportunity to realise projects that often fall out of the classical funding instruments. All innovative, non-commercial projects that, on the one hand, refer to the city of Hamburg, but, at the city, are far-reaching and go beyond border, have the chance to be supported by the Elbkulturfonds. I am very curious to see, which projects and ideas will be submitted until 31 August 2015.”
