Eight start-ups in the latest Next Media Accelerator (nma) programme underway since Monday (August 6, 2018), are being supported by mentors in the media and technology industries and are receiving an investment of up to EUR 50,000. All the start-ups are working on innovative technologies and products ranging from video, recruiting, extended reality and gamification. They have until December 17, 2018 to develop their products and present their projects on Demo Day in Hamburg.
Start-up from Hamburg
Among the international start-ups is The Distriqt from Hamburg. The Distriqt is a digital publisher with a video-only platform for female millennials. Unlike many other video communities, The Distriqt aims to help women find videos that really suit their interests. The platform saves them time by leaving out irrelevant and promotional content.
Eighth programme to start in January
Founded in Hamburg in 2015 and initiated by dpa, the Next Media Accelerator gets media-related start-ups from all over Europe off the ground with a six-month, intensive programme and up to EUR 50,000. Participating teams benefit from the large nma network and direct contacts to leading media and advertising companies. The application phase for the eighth nma has already begun. Media technology start-ups have until October 31, 2018 to apply for the programme beginning in January 2019.
