Designers are working at the interface of society, culture, science, technology, and economy. How do they reflect social, environmental and ethical responsibility and sustainability as designers, consultants, product developers, researchers, stakeholders, and communicators? How and with whom are they working together on projects and solutions that will make our lives more meaningful? These questions will addressed in a “Late Night xconference”, held 3 July 2015 at the Hamburg-based design center “designxport” to celebrate its first year.
Expert Guests and Speakers
On occasion of the one-year anniversary, leading European design experts were invited as guests and speakers. They include, inter alia, Florian Pfeffer /one/one, Amsterdam), Eric Pfromm, Sascha Peters (Haute Innovation, Berlin), Stefan Vidal (Georg-August-Universität, Göttingen) , Annett Borg (Fashion Revolution. Berlin) and Bernd Kniess (HafenCity University, Hamburg).
Showcasing the Design Capital Hamburg
The publicly funded design centre acts as initiator and host of presentations and exhibitions, and promotes the exchange with designers from home and abroad. designxport is thus the ambassador of the German capital of design. designxport also serves as a platform for public discourse. What is design, and what can be achieved by design? Designer will explore the daily use of goods and design in everyday life, discover and use environmentally friendly materials, develop interactions between people and their environment, and optimise communication.
