Host of the third Social Media Week, return of the ADV festival and nextMedia.Hamburg as new support scheme: Hamburg pushes ahead the digital change on many levels.

213 events in five days: true to the overall claim “The Future Of Now – Always On, Always Connected“, Hamburg confirmed itself as stronghold of the digital economy hosting the Social Media Week and implementing its very own focal themes. More than 3,000 participants attended the talks and discussions at twelve locations throughout the city. Held simultaneously in Bangalore, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Lagos, Milan, New York and Tokyo, the world‘s largest social media conference was home in Hamburg for the third time.

A new impetus for the digital economy and the creative industries will also be given by the new initiative nextMedia. Hamburg, which was launched to advance the digital change within the media. Taking the public private partnerships Hamburg@work to a new level after 16 years of successful networking in the media and IT industries, nextMedia. Hamburg wants to strengthen the Content & Technology cluster even further and thus improve the networking among its actors. Today‘s InfoOffice will thus be converted into an advanced nextMedia start hub. In addition, successful formats such as the media congress Scoopcamp will be further expanded and new network platforms being developed.

How technological and creative intelligence can work together is a key theme of the ADC congress on 15 May 2014. The expert meeting is a highlight of the ADC festival, which will return to Hamburg after its successful premiere last year once again 13-17 May 2014. On the evening of 15 May, the best creative works will be honoured with nails in bronze, silver and gold at ADC Awards Show at Operettenhaus.
