Applicants have until June 30, 2018 to apply for seminars during the Music Business Summer School underway from September 13-18, 2018 in Hamburg. This year’s event will focus on further education in publishing, event, label and sales management. Several experts from the German-speaking and international music industry are expected at the seminars to be held at Hamburg Media School and featuring the first “Recorded Music Summer School” with emphasis on copyright and streaming. The summer school comes in the run-up to Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival from September 19-22, 2018.
Theory, practice and network
The Music Business Summer School’s three parallel seminars will provide theoretical knowledge, information on legal framework conditions and insight into everyday work. As part of the Publishing Summer School, Benjamin Budde (Budde Music) and Lars Ingwersen (PantaSounds) will talk about modern publishing, copyright, publishing relationships as well as international co-operation. The Live Entertainment Summer School will focus on ticketing, copyright, liability and law. Experts including Stephan Thanscheidt will give insight into everyday work in festival and tour booking.
Glimpses of the future – voice control and virtual reality
Bettina Dorn (Warner Music Central Europe) is among keynote speakers at the first Synch/Brand Cooperation division in the Recorded Music Summer School. A workshop dedicated to soft skills and negotiation techniques has also been scheduled as well as a session on music issues in future and topics such as voice control and virtual reality.
