Hamburg Airport expands winter flight schedule
Hamburg Airport has added nine international sunny destinations to its winter flight schedule 2022/2023 through March 25, 2023 and will operate non-stop flights on several days per week. The expanded schedule comes amid an upswing in post-pandemic interest in travel.
Great demand for flights
"The great demand for flights continues this winter. Holidays are and remain the highlight of the year for many north Germans," said Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport. Airlines are meeting this demand with a mix of sunny destinations, cities and ski resorts all over Europe. "Thanks to good links to important hubs, regions all over the world can be reached from Hamburg with only just one transfer - in addition to a wide range of direct destinations," he added.
Non-stop flights to Sofia, La Palma and Ankara
Hamburg Airport will operate direct flights from Hamburg to La Palma and Ankara this winter. The Hungarian budget airline, Wizz Air, will fly direct to Sofia, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from December 13. Emirates Airlines will fly to Dubai twice daily. Eurowings and Condor will offer daily flights to Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura and twice-weekly connections to Lanzarote, Hurghada in Egypt and Lisbon while Madeira will be served once a week.
