71,000 visitors flocked to Hamburg's fairgrounds - many local bookings, keen interest in city trips

The 40th Reisen Hamburg ended Sunday (February 12th) on a positive note for both visitors and exhibitors. Around 71,000 north Germans compared to 76,000 visitors in 2016 viewed the offers of some 850 exhibitors for cruises, caravanning and cycling holidays. Many exhibitors spoke about intense talks with well prepared visitors and many bookings as well as deals.” Kerstin Horny, Manager of Thomas Cook travel agency’s stand, said: “We had many bookings for 2018 during the fair.”

Great interest in Elbphilharmonie

Paul Geominy, Head of Sales, said: “We increased our sales during the fair by around 50 per cent over last year.“ Katharina Klanck of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH, noted: “We had very positive feedback about the information that we provided. Our stand was twice as big for the first time. The Elbphilhalmornie theme took up plenty of space and was very well liked by visitors. We had many requests for information about guided tours of the building and of course tickets.“

Rising share of undecided
