Ten full-time representatives of the Hanseatic city in metropolises such as Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Dubai, Saint Petersburg, Brussels and San Francisco are meeting in Hamburg from Wednesday (September 11-12, 2019) at the invitation of Hamburg Marketing GmbH to discuss key future issues facing the metropolitan region.
Hammerbrooklyn.Digital Campus to be presented
Special emphasis will be on mobility of the future as Hamburg gears up to host the World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems in 2021 and digitalisation. “In reference to the latter issue, we will present the Hammerbrooklyn.Digital Campus as Hamburg’s latest flagship project,” said Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, CEO of Hamburg Marketing GmbH. The new laboratory for digital issues creates a space for international companies, start-ups and scientists in which to tackle issues of the future in an interdisciplinary manner. The agenda also features the development of HafenCity and the current status of the Congress Centrum Hamburg, which will open in August 2020.
Paving the way to Silicon Valley
Tim Ole Jöhnk, Director of the Northern Germany innovation Office (NGIO) in San Francisco will be attending the summit for the first time. Founded last August, the new liaison office is paving the way to Silicon Valley for north German companies. Initial success stories include its role in establishing Plug and Play’s European logistics and supply chain headquarters in Hamburg in June.
