Hamburg presents city at ITS World Congress in Singapore

Hanse city presents Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) projects in run-up to 2021

The 26th World Congress for Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) opened its doors Monday (October 21-25, 2019) in Singapore under the theme of “Smart Mobility, Empowering Cities” at which over 10,000 trade fair and congress visitors are expected. Hamburg is presenting its fully automated small bus HEAT, which is being developed in HafenCity, the inner-city test track for automated and networked driving and the GeoNetBake project in Singapore. The demonstrations are all part of ITS Hamburg 2021 GmbH’s endeavours to attract partners and delegates to the 27th ITS World Congress in the Hanseatic city.

Hamburg reception and lectures

“Hamburg is very ambitious in Singapore and highlighting our warm up to the World Congress in our own city. We are also looking at what we can learn from other cities as we seek to become nothing less than Germany’s model city for intelligent transport and logistics solutions,” said Michael Westhagemann, Senator for Economics, Transport and Innovation. Representatives of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), Hamburger Hafen- und Logistik AG (HHLA), the ITS Project Management Office and the World Congress Society are set to deliver ten keynote speeches in Singapore. Hamburg is also hosting a reception for representatives of business, science and politics. The schedule also foresees a visit to a branch of Germany’s Continental in Singapore.
