True to its 2015 claim “Discover the world of flying”, the new edition of Hamburg’s Aiport Days will see up to 100 modern jets and classic aircraft from a century of aviation history being showcased on the grounds of Lufthansa Technik (LHT). Already confirmed has been a Lockheed Super Constllation. Built in 1955, the aircraft is one of only two models still flying, and the only one based in Europe. Lufthansa Technical Training will also proudly present its new training flyer, a Boeing 737. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) will bring its research aircraft Airbus A320-232 “D-ATRA” to Hamburg. Many other aircraft are to join the parade.
In addition, aviation companies from the Hamburg Metropolitan Region will exhibit their latest developments and technologies and invite all visitors to discover them at close and hands-on in a dedicated hall at LHT. They include, for instance, Lufthansa Technik’s crawling robot “MORFI” Lufthansa Technik, exhibits and films by Airbus, a flight simulators, as well as for test labs for children and adolescents to experiment. Behind-the-scenes tours will complement the diverse programme of the great family day on aviation in Hamburg.
