The Gastro Vision fair for the hotel, restaurant and catering sector is accepting applications for the “Advancement Award” until September 14, 2017. The search is now on for new food products, creative servicing concepts or unusual apps. Founders, start-ups and creative minds are invited to submit their entries for the award. Klaus Klische, organiser of Gastro Vision, noted: “Competent expert feedback, the right contacts and a good network are existential for a fledgling company. This is where the Gastro Vision Advancement Award comes in and offers support launching innovative products on the market. The winners can present their company and concept at Gastro Vision 2018 and will have their own stand at the fair. They will also have the opportunity to take part in more events such as the roadshow during Gastro Vision.
Final selection round in Berlin
Ten competitors will go forward to a final selection round in Berlin. There, they will present their ideas to a jury consisting of experts in the catering, hotel and restaurant sector, specialist media and suppliers on September 28, 2017. All the entrants will be given feedback so that they all benefit from their presentations. The award will be officially presented during the Gastro Vision in Hamburg.
Winners in past years included “Farmers Cut“ in 2017 that seeks to grow lettuce in vertical greenhouses in the city of Hamburg and to ensure the supply of residents as well as hotels and restaurants. Last year’s winner was Caté who make a refreshing drink made from coffee fruit. In 2015, Bottoms Up presented an innovative way of tapping beer and shared the prize with Juicify – a company that provides a wireless means of recharging a mobile phone battery in a hotel or restaurant.
