Lufthansa Technik presents VIP aircraft cabin design

World premiere of Lufthansa Technik's Mercedes-Benz style VIP aircraft cabin design at Monaco Yacht Show

Lufthansa Technik and Mercedes-Benz Style are presenting the final version of their advanced VIP aircraft cabin design to the public at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 28th-October 1st, 2016, Lufthansa Technik announced Thursday (September 29th). Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services Division is offering the Mercedes-Benz Style VIP aircraft cabin for private jets with the size of an Airbus or Boeing aircraft. The VIP version of such an aircraft has space for 16 passengers as opposed to 160 in the airline configured plane.

3D presentation

Potential customers and reporters at the show in Monte Carlo can view the entire cabin in a virtual 3D-presentation at Lufthansa Technik’s stand. A scaled physical 3D-model and material samples of the surfaces in the cabin are supplementing the presentation of a unique product in the VIP aircraft market. The approval of the product is a milestone in the long-term cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and Lufthansa Technik. Their partnership focuses on the demands of VIPs and private jet owners, who wish to travel in style. The companies are offering a luxurious transport solution in the skies.

Wieland Timm, Vice President Sales VIP & Special Mission Aircraft at Lufthansa Technik based in Hamburg, said: “It is a great pleasure to present the new Mercedes-Benz Style Cabin to our customers, who want to see state of the art designs for their private jets.” He added: “The two companies combine top design excellence with top technical expertise and therefore have been able to realize a unique aircraft cabin.” Lufthansa Technik will provide all the services required for the private jet of the future.

Since the co-operation was annouced at EBACE in Geneva in May 2015, both companies have been working on the design of this innovative, luxurious and integrated cabin concept. Led by Lufthansa Technik’s engineering team, the designers have updated the initial design concept to fully match the requirements of airworthiness and certification.
