iPILOT to open A380 flight simulator in Hamburg

Flight enthusiasts can try out A380 from 2019 when Hamburg Airport launches new routes

The iPILOT chain of professional flight simulators is to open the first A380 flight simulator in Hamburg on January 15, 2019. Guided by an experienced pilot, fans can then take off on a virtual sightseeing tour under real conditions. “In the iPILOT flight simulator, every A380 fan can fulfill a childhood dream and take a seat in the pilot’s seat of the world’s largest passenger aircraft,” said Wolfram Schleuter, CEO and founder of iPILOT.

Emirates operating A380 on Hamburg-Dubai route

In late October 2018, the Arab airline Emirates launched the first and only A380 scheduled service from Hamburg, flown by Hamburg-born Captain Hauke Smid and First Officer Sultan Hussain from the United Arab Emirates. The flight landed at Hamburg Airport shortly after midday on October 29, 2018. The world’s largest passenger jet will now operate once a day between Hamburg and Dubai, increasing capacity on the route by over 22 per cent.
