Hamburg Airport welcomed its ten millionth passenger in 2022 and passenger numbers have almost doubled over the 5.32 million in 2021. However, passenger numbers remain 25 per cent below pre-pandemic levels, Hamburg Airport said in a statement on Monday (November 21, 2022).

Highest passenger volume in October 2022

"After October proved the strongest month to date since the pandemic, the ten-millionth passenger mark is another milestone on the road to normality," said Katja Bromm, Head of Communications at Hamburg Airport. The high demand for holiday flights and more private travel to visit friends and relatives is fuelling the upswing.
