The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Lüneburg-Wolfsburg is launching Friday (December 8, 2017) a crowdfunding webpage called “Heidecrowd” that also offers loans for fledgling companies. The offer targets existing companies and entrepreneurial, creative and cultural projects in Harburg, Lüneburg, Uelzen, Lüchow-Dannenberg, Heidekreis, Celle, Gifhorn and Wolfsburg.
Two financing modules
Heidecrowd, a regional webpage in the crowdfunding portal’s Startnext programme, combines crowdfunding with loans and equity. The company and a financial partner agree on a sum to be reached using two financing modules. “First, the company gathers the crowdfunding share which the financial partner rates as proof of concept at the same time. When the funding target has been reached, the second financing module is made available. By combining the financing modules, the company can be given higher amount of funds than through crowdfunding alone,” said Nina Heyse, IHK’s advisor on corporate funding.
Felix Thönnessen, who coaches candidates on VOX TV’s “The Lion’s Den” and Markus Streichardt, a representative of Startnext, will give keynotes about start-ups and crowdfunding during Friday’s ceremony (4 pm – 8 pm). The IHK Lüneburg-Wolfsburg is co-operating with the Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (MBG) mbH, Sparkassen Lüneburg and Harburg-Buxtehude, NBank, Leuphana University and the Lüneburg and Volksbank Lüneburger Heide to launch “Heidecrowd”.
Unique in Germany
The idea of combing crowdfunding with traditional corporate financing arose during discussions in 2016. Heyse added: “That was the idea for Heidecrowd. Together with Startnext, the idea has become a unique offer in Germany.”
