Holsten-Galerie Neumünster Inaugurated

Following a construction period of about 19 months, the new Holsten-Galerie shopping centre will open today in Neumünster in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region

It will comprise 90 specialty shops, service providers, and a new food court accommodating various dining options. The property comprises a sales area of around 22,800 m² on two levels. Moreover, Holsten-Galerie houses approximately 1,400 m² of office space and about 950 parking spaces. ECE and the Otto family have invested around 145 million euro into the centre. The long-term management of Holsten-Galerie lies in the hands of ECE that also developed and planned the project. A total of approximately 700 jobs will be created by Holsten-Galerie. Neumünster is located around 70 km north of Hamburg in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and has a population of around 80,000 inhabitants. The catchment area of the centre comprises almost 200,000 inhabitants.

Dr. Olaf Tauras, Lord Mayor of Neumünster: “Holsten-Galerie is a great benefit for Neumünster and will increase the attractiveness of the city center. Hundreds of jobs will be created which will strengthen the region’s labour market. It was a big and courageous decision to build Holsten-Galerie. But it was the right decision.”

New Brands and Traders

The merchandise mix at Holsten-Galerie was custom-tailored to its location. It includes diverse fashion retailers and dining options. Approximately two thirds of the shop concepts premiere in the city centre of Neumünster, among them fashion retailers such as TK Maxx, Hallhuber, Vero Moda, Jack&Jones, Only, Tom Tailor, Tally Weijl, Kult, Camp David, Engbers, Liberty and Bonita, the cosmetics chain Rituals, the Dutch Lifestyle concept Xenos, the Danish design shop Tiger, and a BR toy store. Furthermore, Holsten-Galerie comprises a Media Markt, a Sky supermarket, H&M, a dm drugstore, an Intersport store, a Hugendubel book store, and a Douglas perfumery. A further attraction is the state-of-the-art food court – a large restaurant area with culinary offers from all around the world and a central dining area with more than 350 seats.
