It will followed by the official opening on the museum ship SS Rickmer Rickmers with the ship bell ringing loudly.

Fireworks & Dream Vessels

The highlights of the Port Anniversary include the great entrance parade with more than 300 ships, the departure parade on Sunday, the traditional tugboat ballet, and the dragon boat race. In addition, Groningen as this year’s partner will presents itself with a colourful programme and culinary delicacies. Saturday evening will mark the event’s illustrious highlight with fireworks turning the night sky over the Elbe into a glittering sea of colour.

Open Ship: The Fascination Of Ocean Travel

With the novel “Open Ship” programme, visitors will have the opportunity to inspect the tall ships visiting Hamburg, including famous classics such as Gorch Fock, Star Flyer, Cisne Branco and Alexander von Humboldt II. On land, a 1.4 km long maritime mile will entertain visitors on the northern banks of the Port of Hamburg between HafenCity and Altona. Last but not least, the festival’s main sponsor AIDA will transform the beach club HAMBURG del mar into a world of AIDA, inviting to experience the fascination of cruising at close.
