PREVIEW: SXSW 2018 - world's largest digital and creative festival

31st South by Southwest to start in March

First held in 1987, the 31st South by Southwest gets underway from March 9-18 in Austin, Texas this year. The world’s biggest international digital, media and music conference becomes the place to be for the creative and start-up scene every year. The latest trends are presented and in the past, high calibre guests have included the U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden and the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg. In 2018, Hamburg will again send a large delegation to the festival to highlight the Hanse city as an attractive economic location.

Focus on creativity and innovation

The ten-day festival pays tribute to global creativity and is a mix of film, interactive media, music festivals and conferences. Innovative young people from diverse sectors meet and present their latest business ideas. Visitors and delegates network and forge business opportunities.

Conference with 25 different tracks

The SXSW interactive, film, musik and convergence conference feautres 25 focal themes. The interactive sector will be dedicated to marketing, e-commerce and social media and will be enhanced by six exhibitions and four festivals – interactive, film, music, comedy and gaming. The events include many keynotes, workshops and sessions which are held parallel. To avoid missing out on highlights and beneficial events, delegates are advised to draft a battle plan before arriving in Texas.
