Every year in March, the South by Southwest Festival turns the state of Texas into an El Dorado full of digital and creative executives who set the agenda for the future. Such agenda setting is already being preceded by all kinds of discussions and negotiations. Most U.S. digital pioneers, politicians, organisations, technical geniuses, investors, start-ups, inventors, hackers, cyborgs and people from the fashion, media, movie music and art scenes are heading to the Lone Star State this year. Events in the German Haus, at Hamburg’s stand and exclusive parties will focus entirely on digital issues.
Week’s safari to SXSW
This year, Simone Ashoff, founder and manager of Hamburg’s Good School that prepares executives for digitalisation, Fabian Kienbaum and Marc Sasserath, founders of SK+, a company that helps companies embrace technological opportunities, are staging a weeklong safari to SXSW. Those accompanying them will be handpicked by invitation only.
Shared villa, inspiring “housemates” and curated programme
The participants will share a villa near the venue of SXSW. The high-calibre “housemates” include Ralf Uhlich, Vice President – Head of Digital Marketing at Dräger, Rahmyn Kress, Chief Digital Officer at Henkel as well as Rosa Riera, Vice President of Employer Branding and Social Innovation at Siemens. The highlight of the programme, which is literally a signpost through 2,000 events, includes rounds of talks with experts from Good School and SK+. Naturally, they have immediate access to many events – no queuing required. Discussions will be held under the theme: “What concrete learning and strategies result for my business and company?”
