The Hamburg Metropolitan Region today is regarded as the European capital of the booming wind industry sector. On occasion of the international lead fair WindEnergy Hamburg, held 23-26 September 2014 on the Hamburg fair grounds, the Renewable Energy cluster Hamburg 20 launched a new micro-site from its website in late August. At Wind Hamburg (www.wind-hamburg.de”:http://www.wind-hamburg.de), the cluster’s new industry trailer features an impressive range of renewable energy projects in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region .
EEHH cluster at WindEnergy Hamburg 2014 with many highlights
Installation vessel model, novel rotor blade heating, acoustic camera – at the joint stand of the Renewable Energy cluster Hamburg, there is a lot to discover during the trade fair Wind Energy Hamburg. The industry network will participate at thelaunch of the leading international trade fair with nine exhibitors and four logo partners.

Partners at the stand include the cluster members Get A Head AG, Fichtner Water & Wind GmbH, Fraunhofer ISIT, Hanseatic Power Cert GmbH, HAW Hamburg, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, Osborne Clarke Rechtsanwälte, the University of Technology Hamburg-Harburg, and the University of Hamburg. Discussion on the German wind energy market
On 23 September 2014, the Renewable energy cluster Hamburg and windcomm schleswig-holstein e.V. will jointy host a panel discussion the “The German Wind Energy Market ‐ International Catalyst for New Technologies and Innovative Market Solutions”. Prominent participants on the panel will include Frank Horch, Hamburg Minister of the Economy, Transport, and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg, Reinhard Meyer, Minister of the Economy, Employment, Transport, and Technology of the state of Schleswig‐Holstein, Andreas Nauen, CEO Senvion SE, Dr. Markus Tacke, CEO Siemens Wind Power, and Dr. Jürgen Zeschky, Nordex SE.
The German energy transfer will be the focal theme of the German-Korean Wind Forum on 24 September 2014, hosted in co-operation with the Consulate General of South Korea in Hamburg. The forum will be moderated by Axel Röpke of the registered federal industry association WindEnergie e.V.
Career Day at WindEnergy Hamburg
Wind turbine technician or lawyer with focus on renewable energies – the wind industry offers a tremendous variety of career opportunities. Et the cluster’s career day on 26 September, pupils from all kinds of secondary will be able to gather detailed information on career options, and to learn from experts in talks all about the steps of erecting an offshore wind farm from start to finish. Students will also be able to gather information on issues such as women in the wind industry, engineering trades, and personnel recruitment in small discussion groups hosted by experts.
Entertainment at the stand
Next to information and insights, a party at the fair stand is a classic with all Hamburg participations on trade fairs. At WindEnergy Hamburg 2014, Science Slammer will present the fascination of the booming sector – without any dry graphics and boring Power Point presentations. Alice Phoebe Lou from Cape Town will entertain you with folk music and blues. Beer from Northern Germany and finger food will surely not be missing, either.
