VHH Hamburg-Holstein aiming for zero emission motors

Bus company buys ten new electric vehicles in EUR 5.8 million deal

The Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein (VHH) signed Tuesday (August 15, 2017) a deal worth EUR 5.8 million with Sileo to purchase ten zero emission vehicles for their fleet after issuing a tender all over Europe. The vehicles consist of five solo and five articulate buses.

Modern energy recovery systems

The buses will have a guaranteed coverage of at least 250 kilometres thanks to an innovative new cell generation of batteries. The buses will also have modern energy recovery systems with above-average recuperation rates. Toralf Müller and Jan Görnemann, Managing Directors of VHH, stressed: “The big new electric range of vehicles means the buses can be used immediately in nearly every area.”

Charging infrastructure in Hamburg-Bergedorf

All the vehicles will be stationed at VHH’s depot in Hamburg-Bergedorf and dispatched from there. The charging infrastructure for the new electric buses will be set up in Bergedorf where they will be charged overnight.
