Offshore wind smooths way to sustainable energy

Calls for road map to renewable energies expected at Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference

The Hamburg Renewable Energies Cluster (EEHH) and DNV GL, a leading global provider of testing, certification and consulting services for the entire value chain of the energy industry, are gearing up to host the 16th Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference (HOW) on April 2-3, 2019. This year’s conference will be held under the motto “From ‘if’ to ‘HOW’ – Ready to Realise an Ambitious Renewables Road Map”. The Offshore Innovation Award will be presented during the conference for the first time.

Huge growth potential in renewable energies mix

“Wind and offshore wind in particular are the keys to Germany and Europe’s future energy supply and hold the greatest untapped growth potential in the renewable energy mix. Our outstanding speakers will discuss future trends, both from a technical point of view, such as floating wind, as well as market developments, e.g. zero cent surcharges and tendering systems,” said Jan Rispens, Managing Director of Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg Clusteragentur GmbH.

Offshore Innovation Award 2019

Companies can present innovative business ideas at the Innovation Hub Offshore Wind, which is being held during HOW 2019 for the first time. The five best applicants will be selected in the run-up to the conference. The audience will choose the winner of the Offshore Innovation Award and a cash prize money of EUR 2,000. Those interested can submit their application from February 1, 2019.
