Nordex, the Hamburg-based, wind turbine developer and manufacture, signed in December contracts for four projects with a joint volume of 100 MM with its time-honored Turkish client Bilgin Enerji, Nordex announced Monday. All 33 turbines ordered are part of the latest Delta series, Nordex said.
Projects’ locations
The first project involves the extension of the “Bandirma” wind part in Balikesir, a western Turkish province for which Nordex will supply five of its N100/3300 strong-wind turbines. The second project “Bergama” is located in Manisa, western Anatolia. Bilgin Enerji will add ten N117/3000s to this wind farm, which Nordex will install in March 2016. Plans are also being made to construct ten more turbines of this type in the “Soma” wind farm in Manisa, in July. The fourth project, “Mazi”, is in Izmir near the Turkish Aegean coast. Nordex will supply eight N117/3000s for this in July as well.
Experienced partner in renewable energy sector
Bilgin Enerji is a key partner for Nordex in Turkey and the companies have been collaborating for over eight years now. Bilgin Enerji Holding has been developing, building and operating hydroelectric and wind energy projects for 25 years making them one of the leading renewable power generation companies in Turkey.
Bilgin Energy counts among the pioneers of renewable energy and is one of the first companies on the Turkish wind and hydroelectric market. Wind energy capacity of nearly 900 MW accounts for almost half of the total renewable installed capacity of nearly 900MW in Bilgin Enerji’s portfolio.
