The German Sustainability Award was established in 2008 to encourage the acceptance of social and ecological responsibility and to identify role models in this field. Also in 2015, the award will be granted in three categories, i.e. small companies, medium-sized companies, and large companies. Application are welcome until 12 June 2015.
Contest on two Levels
At the same time, participants also have the opportunity to be recognised with special awards as the “Most Sustainable Brand” or for “Best Resource Efficiency”. The competition itself will take place in two steps. First, the sustainability profile of all applicants will be compared. In a second sept, the achievements in sustainability management and the four areas of value creation will be evaluated.
The applicant’s sustainability will be evaluated by a digital questionnaire analysed by the global management consultants of A.T. Kearney and the Wuppertal Institute. Parallel, the Berlin School of Economics and Law and its partner facit will check sustainability aspects of brand management based on self-reports.
The jury for the award will be appointed by the Board of Trustees German Sustainability Award. It will name the finalists and winners on 9 September 2015. Factors in the choice of the winners also include aspects from business, research, civil society and politics. The award ceremony will take place on 27 November 2015 in Dusseldorf.
