New representative at Hamburg’s Chinese Liaison Office

Hamburg Liaison Office China under new management

Lars Anke, former manager at the Port of Hamburg Marketing Representative Office in Shanghai. The previous deputy of the Representative Office, Pan Hua, succeeds him with immediate effect. Michael Wunderlich, a China scholar, who has previously been in business across Shanghai and China, has been appointed new deputy head.

Successful transition

Commenting on the transition, Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, CEO of Hamburg Marketing and Hamburg Invest, said: “We are delighted that Lars Anke will contribute his outstanding China expertise to his new professional position at HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG. As head of the Hamburg Liaison Office Shanghai. He has already opened many a door for the Port of Hamburg in China in the past,” Ms. Pan and her team will ensure continuity on site in her new function. The intense development of the Chinese marke remains highly important for marketing Hamburg as a location. The HLO in Shanghai and representatives in Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong means Hamburg is ideally positioned in China.

HHM in Shanghai

Hamburg’s local representative office has been in existence since 1986, when the Shanghai-Hamburg twinning agreement was signed. The Port of Hamburg Representative Office in China is part of the Hamburg Liaison Office China (HLO), which is supported by Hamburg’s state government, Hamburg Marketing, Hamburg Invest, Hamburg Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce and Port of Hamburg Marketing. HLO also represents these organisations through its office in Beijing.
