The next NORTEC will be held from January 23-26, 2018 at Hamburg’s fair grounds. The four-day, biennial fair will showcase forward-looking technology and innovative manufacturing solutions. Around 12,000 visitors attended the trade fair in 2016.
Potential of “fourth industrial revolution”
“Industry 4.0” is a hot topic among mid-sized companies as digitalisation gains pace and triggers long-term change. At the same time, the “fourth industrial revolution” gives companies great opportunities for developing new business models. NORTEC will give an overview of the latest trends and networking between man and machines and between machines. Several forums, workshops and advice sessions will give visitors some ideas for making production more efficient.
En route to “Fertigung 4.0”
NORTEC 2016 placed special emphasis on digitalisation and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) held a series of workshops under the theme “En route to ‘Fertigung 4.0‘“. Dr. Jörg Mutschler, Managing Director of VDMA Nord, noted: “The issue is ‘electrifying’ the sector. So we have decided to continue the discussion beyond NORTEC and on a theoretical level.” The third round of the discussion will get underway during NORTEC 2018 with practical examples.
