The new HK100 co-working space is set to open next February on 350 square meters of floor space designed especially for start-ups in transport and logistics in Hammerbrook. HK100 refers to the address in Heidenkampsweg 100 in the centre of the new “future laboratory Hammerbrooklyn. The envisaged creative hub is likely to yield and promote a multitude of novel ideas for digitalisation and mobility.
Advantages of HK100
KRAVAG-LOGISTIC Versicherungs-AG is the brain behind HK 100. Uwe Reisberg, a representative of KRAVAG with responsibility for the new centre, said: “Users have free access to co-working, office infrastructure and a personal mentor right at KRAVAG’s headquarters as part of a six-month programme.” The start-ups also stand to benefit from the numerous partners and customer contacts in the insurance company’s vast network.
Mix or industry focus
Some 80 co-working spaces including betahaus, Mindspace, WeWork and Shhared are already available in Hamburg. Most strive for a mix of industries to offer founders an opportunity to exchange views about very different issues and to inspire each other. Additional specialized creative spaces such as the “Health Innovation Port” (HIP), which opened last year on the Philips campus, focus on health, medical technology and e-health. A co-working space for fintech start-ups named finhaven is due to open in HafenCity in early 2019.
Versatile logistics

A risk of competing logistics in HK100 is unlikely, said Reisberg. The industry is too diverse and includes road, rail, water and air transport services in addition to storage services. Start-ups and founders who wish to secure one or more spaces in HK100 can apply now on www.hk100.de.
