Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) signed an agreement Wednesday (October 24, 2018) with the Hamburg-based start-up 25ways GmbH offering a digital mobility platform for faster commutes and business trips. The platform targets both employees and guests. HHLA is a pilot customer of the “rethink mobility” digital mobility platform, which combines various means of transportation.
25 transport combinations
The digital platform provides up to 25 possible transport combinations for commutes and business trips. It also calculates the time required for various combinations, and determines the reduction in costs and in CO2 when a traveller chooses alternatives to a car. Additionally, the platform bundles all the mobility options that a company offers its employees. HHLA, for instance, offers an e-bike programme, subscription tickets for public transport, and electric cars and bicycles for business trips.
Start-up in Next Logistics Accelerator
Arno Schirmacher, Director of HR Management at HHLA, said: “HHLA is involving our employees in the implementation of our digital strategy. The digital solution developed by 25ways offers real value to HHLA employees as they seek to move through the city faster and in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, intelligent mobility concepts provide an important competitive advantage for companies and their environments. We want to link up with further companies in Hamburg so that together we can offer our employees further mobility options on this joint platform.”
Founded in January 2017 in Speicherstadt, 25ways has been supported by the Next Logistics Accelerator the last six months.
Platform presented at ITS World Congress 2018
In September, 25ways presented its mobility platform to an expert audience at the “Intelligent Transport Systems” (ITS) World Congress in Copenhagen. The congress, the largest industry event in intelligent transport systems, takes place on an alternating basis in America, Asia and Europe. Hamburg is due to host the next European ITS World Congress in October 2021.
