The Germany government has set aside EUR 50 million in annual funds for the gaming industry until 2023, which is good news, according to Dennis Schoubye, head of gamecity:Hamburg. The city has around 200 games companies and around 4,000 employees make Hamburg a European hotspot of the sector. InnoGames is one of the big players in the industry and recently earned a record EUR 1 billion in revenue. All eyes in the industry will be on Hamburg this weekend when it hosts its first game convention. Then everything will revolve around games, sport and cosplay.
