the European market for artificial intelligence is forecast to grow from EUR 3 billion presently to EUR 10 billion by 2022, according to the Bitkom e. V. digital association. Companies, universities, scientific and research institutions and the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) e. V. have also noted this huge potential for growth. This week saw plans presented for more research collaborations. ARIC is set to bundle interdisciplinary know-how in artificial intelligence (AI) across industries and to advance Hamburg’s AI ecosystem from its first office in the Dockland. The newly opened Digital Reality Research and Transfer Centre (FTZ) at HAW Hamburg also prioritises knowledge transfer. Students, spin-offs and company labs collaborate there on the forward-looking technologies of virtual, augmented and virtual reality.
