The Hamburg-based career network Xing SE plans to rename itself New Work SE to in line with its focus on the working world of the future. The leading career platform in the German-speaking countries recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. The name change is subject to the approval of the Annual General Meeting in early June.
Leitmotiv – new world of work
“In recent years, we have successfully positioned ourselves in line with our vision of 'a better working life’. We help our members to benefit from the radical changes in the world of work,” said Thomas Vollmoeller, CEO of XING SE. To this end, Xing offers a platform to discuss the future of work including the New Work Experience (NWX) event. “New Work is thus the leitmotiv for everything we do as a company. By changing our name, we are making New Work a visible bracket around all our activities,” Vollmoeller added.
Lived New Work philosophy
Launched in 2017, NWX is the largest German-language conference on New Work. The Elbphilharmonie is the venue of the next NXW on March 7, 2019 with around 1,800 expected guests. The New Work Award will be presented to pioneers of the New Work movement during the conference. Xing SE acquired the employer-rating portal Kununu in 2013 to raise visibility in the labour market in line with the New Work philosophy. Members of Xing can search for jobs using New Work criteria such as flexible working hours or home office. Xing also promotes prototyping days, hack weeks or weekly employee surveys, innovation culture and transparency.
