Applications are now being accepted for the German Mobility Prize under the theme “Travelling Intelligently – Innovations for Sustainability” until the deadline of May 28, 2018. Digitalisation holds enormous potential for more efficient, environment-friendly mobility with sharing offers, interlinked vehicles and electronic tickets.
“Best Practice” projects wanted
The search is underway for ten “Best Practice” projects that use digitalisation to ensure that traffic and logistics are ecologically compatible, socially balanced and economically viable. The initiative “Germany Land of Ideas” and the German Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) wish to highlight the potential of digital solutions for mobility in future with the contest. The main questions behind the award are how digital innovations can make mobility sustainable and how traffic can become more efficient without harming people and polluting the environment.
Companies, start-ups, cities and communities, universities, research institutions and organisations throughout Germany can submit their applications online to www.deutscher-mobilitätspreis.de until May 28, 2018. Projects that push ahead the digital transformation of mobility and that allow people to travel and goods to be transported more intelligently stand good chances of a win. An expert jury will select ten finalists. The winner will be announced during a ceremony at the BMVI in Berlin.
