The 3rd Brand Slam contest gets underway on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Mindspace Hamburg triggering a search for contestants and their business ideas. Six Hamburg start-ups will have eight minutes to pitch their business ideas in the race for coveted prizes. The winner receives a week’s advertising campaign on Digital City Light Posters sponsored by WallDecaux and designed by Sherpa Design. The first prize-winner will also receive a “ship’s bell” from the Marketing Club Hamburg and a year’s membership of Hamburg@work. “Visual Facilitation” will illustrate all the pitches.
Start-ups have until August 1, 2018 to submit their applications with a short introduction and summary of their business idea in a PDF and can email it to Marketing Club Hamburg e.V. An expert panel will select the finalists for the grand slam event in September. “The brand slam is now taking place for the third time and is becoming one of the Marketing Club’s most important events. The mix of exciting cases and inspiring discussions create a high added value,” said President Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Merkle.
Deciding the winner
Each slam presentation will be applauded. The overall volume of two rounds of applause decides the winner. A jury including Eva-Maria Bauch, Managing Director Digital Products Gruner & Jahr GmbH & Co.KG, René Grothkopp, Founding Consultant Chamber of Commerce Hamburg, Veronika Reichboth (Head of Startup Unit, Hamburg Invest) and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Merkle, President Marketing Club Hamburg e.V., will examine the respective start-up’s business idea.
Later, the audience will again rate a contestant’s performance by applauding. The winner is the start-up that achieves the highest overall vote from both rounds of applause. After the contest, the 120 members of the audience and participants can network over drinks and make contacts.
