From innovative payment models to novel forms of representation: in journalism, new tools and trends are constantly arising. Scoopcamp 2015 in Hamburg will take a closer look at these developments and discuss how these changes at the interface between editing, programming and product development will influence daily journalistic productions. The Hamburg News are giving away three tickets for the event held on 1 October.
One of the keynote speakers at the Theater Kehrwieder in the warehouse district will be Marten Blankesteijn, who recently has been launched a digital kiosk named “Blendle” for the German market. Further speakers include Thomas Wallner DEEP Inc. and Natalia Antelava of Coda.
Conferences and Workshops
scoopcamp 2015 is organised by of nextMedia.Hamburg, the city’s initiative of the media and the digital Economy, in co-operation with the national German news agency dpa. As in previous days, the media conference will consist o a morning congress and afternoon workshops, held parallel for one hour each.
At these workshops, the participants – 300 guests are expected – will be able to work in small groups on topics such as “realtime news”, “dissemination of news”, “storytelling” and “collaboration”. All results from the work groups will be discussed afterwards in and by the plenary in a conversation, presided by two leading representatives of international media. scoopcamp’s programme will be presented by Jenn iSchwanberg (dpa-infocom GmbH and next media accelerator).
Impulse for Journalism in Transition
“If you strive to push ahead the digital transformation, you will have to promote the strategic exchange”, said Carsten Brosda, media representative of the Hamburg Senate. “scoopcamp provides an ideal setting.
scoopcamp will be giving impetus for a changing journalism, with experienced editors meeting digital innovators. These encounters will provide food for thought and inspire new journalistic approaches.” Comspot, Deutsche Welle, Google and Zeit Online are partners of scoopcamp.
On the role of media in the refugee debate
However, scoopcamp is not just about the journalism of tomorrow, but also the responsibilities of the present. Thus, scoopcamp will also be hosting a workshop on “#RefugeesWelcome – the role of media in the refugee debate”. Kai Gniffke, editor in chief of ARD-aktuell, will talk about his editorial experience and impressions in the current refugee debate.
