Risk Ident opening U.S. branch

Otto's subsidiary provides anti-fraud software in e-commerce, telecommunications and financing

The Hamburg-based Risk Ident software provider is to open a branch in the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) near Boston, Massachusetts as part of its internationalisation strategy, a press release said Tuesday (August 8, 2017). The close proximity to customers and investors in the location is ideal for forward-looking developments, the company added. Risk Ident, a subsidiary of the Otto Group International, focuses on e-commerce and hopes to gain greater access to the big U.S. market and profit from links to the renowned Media Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Identifying and thwarting fraud online

Risk Ident provides anti-fraud software in e-commerce, telecommunications and financial services across Europe. The software allows each user to monitor sales channels automatically for fraudulent activity and to minimize possible losses. Risk Ident Inc. (USA) will help large companies identify and prevent fraudulent online payments, account take-overs and identity theft.

Securing international customers

Dustin Clinard, Managing Director of the new U.S. branch, said: “All retailers that use online payment system face a growing online payment risk. Our expansion in the U.S. gives us an opportunity to cover our existing customers’ needs and to strengthen the customer base at home and abroad.”
