Pitch on St. Nicholas' Day to promote social start-ups

Social founders with app ideas: prize of EUR 10,000 in software

The Hamburg-based has announced a new pitch event on Saint Nicholas’ Day (December 6, 2018) and was calling on social enterprises of all kinds e.g. social start-ups, registered associations or foundations with an app idea to enter by November 30. The best projects are invited to the event on December 6th, (5 pm to 7 pm) in the Startup Dock. The event promotes creative business ideas with social benefit.

Promoting social commitment

“Even as a young company, we have a responsibility that many larger companies do not take seriously: Within the framework of the ViperDev Nikolaus Pitch, our goal is to support social projects that do good and benefit society right from the start,” said Lasse Schuirmann, founder and CEO of ViperDev. The winners of the pitch can look forward to prizes such as a software solution and app design worth EUR 10,000 euros or strategy consulting worth EUR 1,000 and software architecture planning worth EUR 700.

Social Impact Lab Hamburg

The Social Impact Lab is one of several places in Hamburg offering plenty of information and support for social projects. Launched in 2013, it has supported Hanseatic social entrepreneurs so far. Scholarship holders of various support programmes can avail of coaching and consulting services as well as further support setting up a social enterprise. Events are also offered for those interested in (social) entrepreneurship.
