The Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) opened a liaison branch for northern Germany in Hamburg on Tuesday (February 5, 2019). The national cyber security authority is expanding its range of information and support services for companies, authorities, municipalities and other institutions. These are to receive fast and direct access to the BSI’s services and offers via the branch in the offices of German Weather Service near the St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken.
“We want to shape digitalisation and seize the opportunities. Data protection and data security always play an important role. The challenges associated with this are best mastered with competent partners. I am therefore delighted that we now also have local contacts at BSI,” said Christian Pfromm, Hamburg’s Chief Digital Officer .
Supporting states and local businesses
The Liaison Office North serves the states of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig Holstein as well as the local authorities, companies and civil society institutions for all matters related BSI and cyber security. It also represents the BSI at events, conferences and trade fairs in northern Germany.
