Small Hamburg-based music labels now have until September 27, 2018 to apply for grants of EUR 3,000 to EUR 10,000. Around 18 music publications benefited from the grants by the Ministry of Culture and Media for different music genres and music labels earlier this year.
Raising quality, reducing risk
“The small labels are often special places of quality and artistic risk in music. That is why they and their work are indispensable for the music city of Hamburg. I am pleased that we can again help to mitigate the risk of these important artistic investments and support young artists in particular this year,” said Dr. Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media.
Support for music productions or marketing
The support programme developed with the industry aims to preserve existing jobs, create employment opportunities new ones and to improve the development of artists and the attractiveness of Hamburg as a music location. The subsidy is aimed at micro enterprises with headquarters or branches in Hamburg. The subsidy may amount to between EUR 3,000 and EUR 10,000 and requires an equity share of at least 50 per cent as financing.
