Innovative solutions for challenging social issues

Teams to develop ideas for social business models during 48-hour "Social Innovation Challenge"

The “Social Innovation Challenge” will be held from June 16-18, 2017 in betahaus Hamburg in co-operation with the Social Impact Lab to find ways of solving social issues in the city. Initiated by Innovative City, the organisers hope to come up with ideas on how to make Hamburg liveable and attractive for everyone in 2030 by encouraging participation, social commitment and boosting the development of social innovations.

Sustainable urban development and active citizenship

Online proposals submitted by citizens of Hamburg will be discussed during a round table of experts from various sectors and prepared for the 48-hour challenge. During the “Startup Camps’” weekend, interdisciplinary teams will further develop the ideas with experts and coaches.

All those interested in social entrepreneurship, sustainable urban development and active citizenship are encouraged to take part in the challenge. Participants do not have to present their own ideas for a project. After 48 hours of intense work, the teams will present their projects. A jury will select the winning team. The prize is a scholarship in the Impact Starter qualifying programme.
