Indie Gameleon is a festival organised by indie game developers for indie game developers, game design students and indie game enthusiast. Including lectures, indie game showcase, game jam and a chiptune dance party, the four-day festival will take place at the HAW – Kunst and Medien Campus in Hamburg from 11-15 September 15. Previously held in the Dutch city of Groningen and now travelling to Hamburg, the organisers intend not only to the international reputation of the games industry of Northern Europe, but also to stimulate the collaboration between entrepreneurs and organisations across international borders. Furthermore, networking between the Dutch and German gaming industry will be deepened. This year, the organisers of Indie Gameleon will be co-operating with Macromedia University and HAW Hamburg.
Workshops, Discussions, and Dance
The festival will kick off on Friday, 11 September, with the Indie Gameleon Game Jam, inviting participants to develop a game within 48 hours based on the subject set for the game jam. After the two day game jam, the festival will continue with a two day conference, featuring interesting lectures, workshops and panels from people from the game industry and software development. At the Indie Gameleon showcase, game developers will present their games to the public. At a 8-Bit Dance Party, all music will be generated from game consoles.
